Ginger Bay is a small apartment complex located at the north-eastern end of the Crane beach on the south-eastern coast of Barbados in the parish of St. Philip.  Access to the beach is via steps on the cliff front or via the private locked entrance on the property just to the south of Unit 7.  The famous Crane Beach Resort with its numerous restaurants and shops, is just a short walk away.  The property is about 10 minutes' drive both from the airport and from Six Cross Roads with its shopping, banking and medical facilities.

There are 10 units in total, 6 doubles and 4 singles.  This Unit No. 7, a double, which is approximately 2,000 sq. ft. of covered floor area, is located on the ground floor on the Eastern side of the complex with stunning views of the ocean, not only from the patio and deck, but also from the kitchen, living and dining areas and bedrooms 1 and 3.   Bedroom 3 was originally an additional patio on the East or seaward side and this was tastefully converted to make a 3rd bedroom, which was designed for children, and which has wonderful views of the ocean and access off the Eastern deck as well as through the living room.  This room could, of course, easily be used for other purposes if required.  The unit therefore now accommodates three bedrooms and two bathrooms, one being right outside the master bedroom and the other located off the corridor leading to bedroom two, near to the living room.  To the side of the living room is a dining area with ocean views.  The kitchen is designed with an open bar and the remaining covered patio is accessed from this area. The unit is being offered furnished and there is a solar water heater.

The communal area is very spacious with a large pool and deck with covered gazebos.  There is also a large communal laundry room.  A tennis court is located on the opposite side of the parking area near the entrance to the property.

The house itself is an excellent example of island vernacular architecture, a three bedroom, two bathroom bungalow with shuttered windows and a wide verandah along the east and south side of the house, which face the beach and ocean.  The house has just been upgraded with new windows throughout and an access door from one bedroom to the verandah to the East.  There is a newly renovated enlarged and modern kitchen with breakfast bar open to the dining and living areas.  The bedrooms and bathrooms have also been upgraded. 

The house has a 20 metre pool, set on the coral cliff with a spectacular view of the beach and bay below. This is a perfect pool for swimming laps or just having a relaxing dip after sunning on the wonderful pool deck. The deck itself has two gazebos providing shade as required, one with a dining table and chairs and the other with a wet bar. Just by the gazebos is a bathroom and shower. One of the most magnificent features of this large pool is the infinity edge which overlooks the cliff and sea below giving one the impression of the sea being an extension of the pool.

Perfect for families of up to six, or two or three couples vacationing together, Astra offers casual comfort, seclusion, and a short drive to the spectacular Crane beach and even closer to one of the more secluded beaches on the island of Barbados, all within 10 minutes of the airport and 30 minutes of Bridgetown.

Hunter is one of only ten privately-owned villas in the colourful gardens of Castle Close Estate. This cottage offers a spacious living room with peaked ceiling, an adjoining dining room to seat eight, a lovely kitchen with moulded counter tops, and a separate laundry with washer and dryer. An enclosed courtyard, accessed from the master bedroom, dining room, and kitchen, offers private alfresco dining.

There are three air-conditioned bedrooms, each equipped with ceiling fans and an ensuite bathroom. The master bedroom contains a king-size bed, and the bathroom has both a shower stall and a tub. One of the other bedrooms is furnished with a king-sized bed and the second with two singles. From a large terrace off the living and dining areas, the soothing sounds of a waterfall by the pool can be enjoyed. The private pool and deck are accessed off this terrace via a short wooden bridge. For those who prefer to sit around the pool in a shaded location, a pagoda has been added to provide some protection from the sun at one end of the pool deck.

Naomi, the housekeeper at Hunter cottage for the past twelve years, is there to take care of  housekeeping needs such as changing and laundering of linens and cleaning of the cottage 3 days a week.  She is experienced enough to deal with this, familiarise you with the cottage and assist you without being intrusive, allowing you to relax completely and enjoy a real vacation. 

For those guests who wish to try local dishes in the cottage, additional arrangements can be made for a cook.

There are several beaches within easy walking distance and the Crane beach and Bottom Bay beach, two of the most popular beaches on the South East coast of Barbados are five and ten minutes drive from the cottage respectively. 

Like all of the Castle Close Villas, this cottage has been tastefully furnished, and the use of coral stone wall finishes and tropical hardwood floors make it a very appealing place to stay.

Security is provided in the Castle Close Complex between 7pm and 5 am daily.

The two bedrooms on the ground floor have a double and queen sized bed respectively and are both air-conditioned and tastefully furnished. The en-suite bathrooms have showers and there is also a separate powder room on this floor.

The kitchen with its striking red and black finishes is fully equipped with all the modern conveniences and black granite countertops add to luxurious feel of this room. The comfortable living room is another area conducive to quiet relaxation with wonderful ocean views.

The vaulted, double-height living/dining space is stained white, decorated with elegantly casual furniture, and the expanse of French doors enables this room to be entirely open to the views of the ocean. The villa also includes a well-equipped ktchen, washer and dryer.  There is a large patio for sunbathing as well as a covered patio for those wanting to avoid the sun while still being able to be in close contact with the "sun-worshippers".  These patios are perfect for reading during the day, cocktails at sunset, or alfresco dining at any hour.

Maid service is provided 3 days a week, and on request, arrangements can be made to have a cook.

  • 25% deposit and a signed copy of the booking form are required in order to confirm booking.
  • Balance due - 100 days prior to commencement of villa rental.
  • If booking is cancelled before this 100-day deadline, we will refund your payment in full, with the exception of a US$100 cancellation fee.
  • If booking is cancelled within 100-day deadline we can only provide a refund for any portion of your rental that we are able to re-book, less US$100 cancellation fee. 
  • Guests are responsible for any breakage, loss or damage to any article belonging to the villa.
  • Travel insurance should be investigated in case something arises and you cannot travel.

With stunningly breathtaking views and impeccable interiors, Belair Great House offers the complete package for your group’s get away. Attention to detail was key when putting together this beautiful home, which includes a housekeeper for the duration of your stay.

Quintessentially Bajan, Belair Great House is an impeccable and newly restored plantation-style house. It was built over a hundred years ago and has been owned by the same family in Barbados for the past twenty years. The house sleeps 16 and is situated on more than two acres of beautiful lawns and gardens, with almost 300 feet of ocean frontage.  Either the main house with 5 bedrooms, or both the main house and the coach house with a total of 8 bedrooms, can be rented.  This coastline offers the option of sleeping with the windows open to catch the ocean breeze or sleeping in air-conditioning.  All bedrooms in both houses have air-conditioning and ceiling fans.

The entire property is fully enclosed with an electronic entrance and a gate to the sea front. It is extremely private and offers a peaceful setting that invites you to relax on its grand verandas, admire its glorious island vistas and dramatic ocean views. 

While the property provides all the modern facilities required, the old-world character of Belair Great House has been carefully preserved. Belair Great House has five bedrooms. The ground floor consists of a formal dining room, large kitchen, one bedroom, one bathroom and a wrap-around veranda. The veranda holds patio furniture for relaxing in the breeze, while overlooking the sea, pool or tennis court, and is only a short distance from the sparkling freshwater swimming pool.

The upper floor has four bedrooms and four bathrooms all with their own access to the wrap-around ocean view veranda furnished with comfortable outdoor seating, which also overlooks the pool and lawns. On the upper floor back-facing veranda is a living space with push-out shutters, lounge seating, dining table, another fully equipped kitchen and an all-important bar. The outdoor living space on the first floor is undoubtedly the most stunning for views, relaxing and taking that all needed down time.

The pool deck is slightly raised and there is a covered gazebo with a round dining table and chairs for alfresco dining. There are chaise lounges around the pool and also a brick barbeque grill on the deck. Belair has its own full-size tennis court. 

The Coach House hosts 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, kitchenette, large billiards room, bar and living space. It has been tastefully restored to match the high standards of the Main House, with hardwood floors, travertine tiles, granite countertops and coral stone rendering so you can really see the old-world character of the building, but in a newly renovated feel. It features a full-size antique billiards table with double French doors opening out to the lawns, allowing the room to catch the fresh breeze blowing in off the ocean.

Host Availability:

When your booking is confirmed, you will be allocated a Property Manager who will contact you directly and be available to answer any questions or queries before and during your stay. They will also send you all the arrival, directions, check in and check out information you will need. The Property Manager can also assist in concierge services such as booking airport transfers, restaurants, excursions or dealing with any requests you may have while you are staying in Belair. Telephone numbers will be left with you should you need to contact someone out of hours.

The Neighbourhood:

Belair Great House is located on the Southeast Coast of Barbados, in the parish of St Philip. The property is situated in a private and secluded neighborhood, but only a short drive from a number of popular restaurants, bars, beaches and attractions. Meaning you have the benefit of being close to the main attractions but can have peacefulness and privacy at the same time.

With the airport a mere 16 minutes’ drive, some local restaurants, bars and famous beaches being a short 5-minute drive away, and the tourist haven of St Lawrence Gap being only 23 minutes’ drive, Belair Great House ticks all the boxes when it comes to privacy and playtime!

Many of Barbados' finest beaches are within a five-minute drive of the property. Dawlish Beach and Falmouth Beach are within easy walking distance. 

Getting Around:

It would be recommended to hire a car or take taxis when heading out to explore the beautiful island of Barbados. The Property Manager can assist with booking these for you if required.
